about me

My name is Angelina Pagano, and I have been living in Venice, Italy for the last 20 years.

My story so far... in 1991, destiny desired, that I should cross paths with an aspiring young gondolier named Dino De Zorzi.
I was half way into a year long vacation abroad, and had no idea that this fateful meeting in St Mark's Square, would lead me to exchange my previous mundane life as a high school teacher in Sydney, Australia, and return to the land of my parents' birth.

We married. Dino would become the fifth generation in his family, to be a gondolier, and we have been happily paddling together ever since.

A few months ago we decided to take a year off from our normal Venetian lifestyle, pep up our lives and head out to exciting England. We have opened a small art gallery called "Art For Serious People" with little Dino as the creative one. He has temporarily traded in his oar for the paintbrush... And he is loving it!

We have moved to an extraordinary English village called Fowey, and it is found on the gorgeous Cornish coast. The people and their pets, the food, the landscape, the river, the sea, the beaches, the erratic weather, and of course, the pubs, make this part of the world quite breathtaking and really magical. Yes, you heard it, right here, I said the food! Britain is not just about the pubs, and the smelly, wet dogs that frequent them.

For the next year, we will attempt to embrace all things British...  endeavoring to live our version of the "Cornish Dream".
