Fowey River is Teaming with....

The Troys are out, so too are the Fowey Rivers, and have you seen those J Class? WHAT are you talking about! My friends, that is "yachty" talk, and the season has just begun.
Walk into any sailing, rowing, yachting club, boat shed, any place that has to do with water vessels, in any part of this country, and you will be bombarded with lots and lots of strange words. Most refer to the boats and their parts, whilst others refer to the climatic condition. What a sheer delight to view the river with so many beautiful boats.
Dino and myself are not sailors, yet, we like to go ON boats. The other day, a good friend of ours Salvador, invited us out on his delightful craft, and boy did we have fun. His beautiful wife Lynne, bought along some Prosecco and nibbles and the fish were biting!!! 2 massive pollock were snapped up in 20 minutes, and as much as I would like to take the credit, it was little Dino who managed to catch them. The mackerel were also biting, but that was on another boat, the next day, and this time I caught LOADS!
So, if you happen to be in our parts, consider hiring a small boat or go out with one of the charter boats, you will have a blast. IF you catch too many fish, you can bring them to our gallery, we will be more than happy to take them off your hands.

Sculpture of the Month - Yahoooooooooo!

Russell and Rusty are inseparable! They are rarely seen apart, they never argue, they have the some interests and even support the same basketball team.

Five days a week, Russell and Rusty drive to work together, they are employed by Cornwall Council as Arborists, they have a sausage roll with tomato sauce and a bag of salt and vinegar crisps for lunch, they read the Guardian newspaper and they listen intently to Radio 4. Yes, life is grand.

However, when the weekend comes along, their rhythms change completely. The wet weather gear appears, the goggles are packed, they strap on the kayak to their Mini roof rack and there is no stopping them.

They become fearless,  thrill seekers and are undaunted by any situation. You will often hear Russell and Rusty yelling "Yahoooooooooo!"

Painting of the Month - 2b or not 2b ;-)

Here is our old friend William, his hobbies include cross stitching, growing gigantic courgettes and watching "The Great British Bake Off".  He is a true believer in moving with the times. He is impressed by text shorthand, chat acronyms and netlingo. He appreciates the use of such cryptic codes as, SWAK, 420 and ,!!!! Although, there are moments when he too is at a loss....  Does anyone really use AFAHMASP?

The twitter thing has really taken his fancy, he was inspired by Mr Bluebird, all day long he would hear him tweet, and then it came to him... 2B or not 2B;-)

BTW, there is also this thing called netiquette, but I digress.

A nickname for abbreviations of words used primarily in [[chat room|chat rooms]] and while texting or instant messaging, chat acronyms are popular on the Internet as a modern day type of shorthand for common phrases. This type of shorthand is also seen in e-mail messages, [[text message|text messages]], newsgroup postings, [[discussion board|discussion boards]], and in the media in general. One reason acronyms and shorthand are used so widely is that it's quicker and easier to type a few letters rather than to type the full expression.
